Capsule Upgrade Programme

Capsule-upgrade-programme

As part of our on-going commitment to reviewing and improving the efficiency and impact of our business, in 2009 we implemented a capsule upgrade programme.

This improved capsule functionality, technical capabilities and longevity.

What this means for the environment is that:

  • LED lighting has been introduced to reduce energy consumption by 75%.
  • We maintain the hydraulic oils used in the operation of the EDF Energy London Eye by extensive filtering and monitoring in order to extend the usage period and lower demand for new oils.
  • All oils used are bio-degradable, the grease is edible and causes no harm to wildlife, cleaning products are bio-degradable and non-pollutant.
  • Print
