Mayor of Lambeth hosts annual fundraising event at the London Eye

21 Apr 2010

The Merlin Entertainments London Eye hosts annual fundraising event for the Mayor of Lambeth

Mayor of Lambeth

On Wednesday 3rd March 2010, the London Eye once again supported the annual fundraising event for the Mayor of Lambeth. Along with the 32 Mayors of each London borough, 300 guests enjoyed a flight on the London Eye and then moved on to the Silver Sturgeon for entertainment on the Thames.

The London Eye lies in the London Borough of Lambeth, one of the most socially deprived boroughs in London and each year the London Eye team gives the wheel exclusively for free to the Mayor to hold an event with all profits going directly to the Mayor's nominated chosen charities. This year the event raised over £7000 which Mayor Christopher Wellbelove chose to donate to The Clapham Youth Centre, Lambeth Women’s Aid and The Trinity Hospice.

The London Eye is proud to be able to support the local community by using the London Eye for such a positive initiative and to really give something back to the borough.
