Open House at The Merlin Entertainments London Eye
21 Aug 2009
Open House London, the capital’s biggest architecture festival, throws open the doors of hundreds of buildings - from Westminster to Waltham Forest, Camden to Croydon - giving Londoners the chance to see the best of the city’s architecture. Great buildings and the city’s public spaces shape our daily lives as we live, learn, work and play. And this September, Open House, the independent charity dedicated to opening eyes, minds and doors to good design, invites Londoners to share their enthusiasm for the city’s buildings through opening properties of architectural significance across 31 boroughs.
The Merlin Entertainments London Eye on Sunday 20th September will host a lecture with the visionary architect, David Marks, whom conceived the London Eye concept with his wife Julia Barfield that now form the very successful Marks Barfield Architects. David will give a 45 minute lecture with a Q&A segment on the history of the London Eye, including initial concepts. This will be followed by a flight on the London Eye lasting approx. 30 minutes. The lecture starts at 9am and concludes at .9.45am, followed by a flight at 10am for approx. 30 minutes. If you would like to book please contact Open House.
