Getting to the EDF Energy London Eye

The EDF Energy London Eye is situated on the South Bank of the river Thames, opposite the Houses of Parliament. The ticket office is located inside County Hall, which is the building directly next to the London Eye.

The London Eye is located within easy walking distance from several major London overground and London Underground stations: Waterloo and Charing Cross. It is also in within walking distance from Westminster and Embankment London Underground stations.

Coach parking

Free coach parking bays are available, but space is limited, so we ask teachers to book a coach parking bay in advance of their arrival.
Your booking gives you twenty minutes to drop off and pick up your group. You are not permitted to use the coach parking bays whilst your group visits the London Eye.

Ticket collection

If collecting pre-booked school tickets, one member of the group should go to the Group and Disabled Desk. You should allow approximately 10 minutes for this.

School Guided Tour tickets can be collected from the Priority Desk 15 minutes before the scheduled time slot. The capsule host will then escort you to the EDF Energy London Eye.

Should you wish see the 4D Experience before your visit time, you should allow 45 minutes to do so and then proceed to the Priority Desk for School Guided Tours, or to the boarding plaform of the London Eye for standard tickets as usual 15 minutes before your time slot.

Facilities

Within the London Eye Ticket Office in County Hall adjacent to the London Eye there are both male and female customer toilets.
There is also a Customer Service Information Desk to provide guests assistance during their visit.
Unfortunately there are no facilities for left luggage at the London Eye so teachers and students will need to keep their possessions on their person at all time.

Opening times

The London Eye is open daily during term time, except for our maintenance period in January.

January - March
daily 10.00am - 8.30pm

April to June
daily 10.00am - 9.00pm

July and August
daily 10.00am - 9.30pm

September to December
daily 10.00am - 8.30pm

Lunch

As the London Eye is located next to Jubillee Gardens, this is an ideal place for students and teachers to have lunch in good weather.

Additionally, there are two branches of Zen cafe, both inside the London Eye Ticket Office and outside adjacent to the London Eye offering tea, coffee, sandwiches and snacks with seating.

Safety and security

We aim to provide a safe environment for all our guests. We have on site security guards at all times who are Security Industry Authority (SIA) liscenced security officers.

We have policies and procedures in place for lost children. Please ask a member of staff to alert a Duty Manager as soon as possible.

We have an on site duty first aid team, who can provide medical assistance, and if necessary call an ambulance for more serious injuries.

First aid

We have a number of staff who have the HSE First aid at Work certification, and who can assist in minor injuries. For any medical issues, please alert a member of staff immediately.
The London Eye is also a short walk from Guy's and St. Thomas's Hospital where medical assistance can be obtained.
