Coca-Cola London Eye celebrates Olympic Handover
London, 21 August 2008
This Bank Holiday weekend, the world will watch as Beijing hands over the Olympic flag to London. One of the capital’s most iconic landmarks, Coca-Cola London Eye, will be joining in the celebrations, turning their lights red, white and blue to represent the colours of the Union Jack and to launch the nation’s countdown to the 2012 games.
Coca-Cola London Eye will repeat a sequence of festive colours throughout the weekend, with special effects showing the colours not only changing but also moving in different directions. Furthermore, at the turn of every hour the wheel will sparkle gold in recognition of the fantastic success of the British Olympic team in Beijing.
The Union Jack themed wheel will allow visitors to Coca-Cola London Eye to partake in these unique celebrations honouring the Olympic Games handover, whilst also enjoying the panoramic views of the next Games’ host city. The wheel will remain lit up from dusk on Friday 22nd August to Monday 25th August, 2008.
David Sharpe, Managing Director of Coca-Cola London Eye comments,
