Merlin’s Magic Wand Day
04 Jul 2011
On Satuday 2nd July, a group of children and their families from Greater London were treated to a magical day out by children’s charity Merlin’s Magic Wand. The visit coincided with a day long fundraising drive at all four Merlin attractions in the capital, Madame Tussauds, SEA LIFE London Aquarium, London Dungeon and Coca-Cola London Eye.
Each of the families was treated to VIP tours of their chosen attraction and then on to Coca-Cola London Eye where they had a front row view of a spectacular performance by Fulham based dance troop “Creative Kidz and Co.”, finishing their magical day with amazing views of London in their very own private London Eye capsules, 135 metre above the city.
The children nominated to receive this special treat were selected from three London based organisations. The Richard Cloudesley School in Islington, which meets the needs of pupils with physical and associated special educational requirements, the Brookfield House School in Essex which educates children with a wide range of physical disabilities and Evelina Children’s hospital in Waterloo which provides everything from routine care and minor surgery to life saving treatment for over 100,000 children every year. Merlin’s Magic Wand gave the whole group an extra special day that they will never forget.
Merlin’s Magic Wand charity Manager Hilary Birkinshaw said of the day “We’re really excited to welcome our VIP guests on July 2nd. Each of the attractions is going to great efforts to ensure all of our guests have the most magical day of their lives. Merlin Entertainments has already created so many magical experiences for disadvantaged children, we’re hoping that with donations from the public, we can take that even further.”
