What?  Independent Music Market

When?  Sunday 1st April

Where?  Peckham Springs Bar

Why go?  This free event will be happening between 11am and 5pm on Easter Sunday and includes a record fair, workshops, talks, live music, DJs, food and drinks. It’s a family friendly event with over 25 independent UK record labels bringing their best vinyl, merchandise and music.

 

What?  Vegan Nights

When?  Thursday 5th April

Where?  93 Feet East, Brick Lane

Why go?  From 5pm London’s finest vegan street food vendors, including Cook Daily, Mooshies, Spice Box and Arancini Brothers, will be serving up their best dishes on Brick Lane (doughnuts, jerk ‘chicken’, ramen...) It’s free entry and there’s music and plenty of vegan beers and cocktails to go around too.

 

What?  Piano Day

When?  Friday 6th April

Where?  Blank 100, Dalston

Why go?  There’s 88 keys on a piano and this festival takes place on the 88th day of the year (which is actually 29th March) but if you missed it, on 6th April Pianofield will be playing a special event at Blank 100 to celebrate the beautiful instrument.

 

What?  Crafty Fox Market

When?  Saturday 7th April

Where?  Mercato Metropolitano, Borough

Why go?  Music, drinks and workshops make this excellent crafty market of hand-picked makers even more enjoyable.

 

What?  Sunday Papers Live

When?  Sunday 8th April

Where?  Cecil Sharp House, Camden

Why go?  If you’ve ever wished you had more time to read the Sunday newspapers then this event is for you. Take a whole day out to indulge in a day dedicated to playing out the papers live for you. It’s fun, thought-provoking and also has Sunday roasts and tipples.

 

What?  Angel Easter Floating Market

When?  Until Sunday 8th April

Where?  Regent’s Canal, New North Road

Why go?  The traditional canal boats are opening up their platforms over the weekends to sell you vinyl, cupcakes, vintage clothing, hedgerow cocktails, handmade jewellery and herbal remedies.

 

What?  London Coffee Festival

When?  Friday 13th - Sunday 15th April

Where?  Old Truman Brewery

Why go?  Coffee masters unite at this huge event which also marks the start of UK Coffee Week. They’ll be over 250 coffee and food stalls including bean tastings, barista demonstrations, latte art, workshops and music.

 

What?  The London Marathon

When?  Sunday 22nd April

Where?  26 miles from Greenwich Park to Buckingham Palace

Why go?  Jelly babies and tissues at the ready, it must be London’s most motivational and heart-warming event of the year. Even if you don’t know anyone running it, spectating is a great day out - try Deptford (mile 8), Shadwell (miles 13 and 22) and Embankment (mile 24).

 

What?  Tate Tap Takeover

When?  Thursday 26th April    

Where?  Tate Modern  

Why go?  On the last Thursday of every month, the Tate Modern Bar taps are taken over by British craft breweries and you can taste and trial their newest beers and learn more about brewing. The event starts at 6.30pm and it’s £15 for a ticket - check their website for this months brewer.

 

What?  Bingo Academy

When?  Various dates    

Where?  Mecca Bingo, Camden and The Vaults, Waterloo   

Why go?  Play bingo but also learn all the rules, tips and techniques to take the game by storm. There’s a full bar and food available.
