What?  Underbelly Festival

When? Open until Sunday 30th September

Where? The South Bank next to Hungerford and Golden Jubilee Bridges

Why go? The Udderbelly Festival and London Wonderground is back with circus, cabaret and comedy and celebrating its 10th year! There are lots of family friendly shows and you don’t need a ticket to use their outdoor bar area for food and drinks.

 

What?  Alchemy Festival

When? Friday 4th - Monday 7th May

Where? The Southbank Centre

Why go? The annual South Asian festival of contemporary dance, performance, music and literature from international and British artists.

 

What?  Neverland London

When? Thursday 3rd May - Friday 31st August

Where? Fulham, SW6 2TY

Why go? London’s Thames-side beach club in Fulham is open Wednesdays to Sundays with two bars, live DJs, a pop up BBQ and a range of summer games and activities changing every week like yoga, shuffle board and table tennis.

 

What? East London Vintage Kilo Sale

When? Sunday 6th May from 10am

Where? York Hall, Bethnal Green

Why go? Don’t like bartering or paying more than you bargained for? At this sale, grab the items you want and take them to the scales. It’s £15 per kilo for whatever you buy (plus £3 entry before midday, £1.50 after).

 

What?  London Craft Week

When? Wednesday 9th - Sunday 13th May

Where? Various locations

Why go? There’s a really varied programme of events celebrating London’s craftsmen and women. Visit jewellery workshops, art galleries, metalwork studios and luxury shops.   

 

What?  Covent Garden May Fayre and Puppet Festival

When? Sunday 13th May

Where? Covent Garden

Why go? This festival of Punch and Judy is in it’s 43rd year and is celebrated on the same day that Mr Punch was first recorded to be seen by Samuel Pepys 356 years ago! There’s also food, drink, folk music, maypole dancing and it begins at 11am with a brass band.

 

What? The Royal Wedding Tea Dance

When? Saturday 19th May, 11am

Where? The Southbank Centre

Why go? Celebrating Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding day, it promises to be a right royal affair with music, dancing and songs, and it’s free!

 

What? The FA Cup Final

When? Saturday 19th May, 5.30pm

Where? Wembley Stadium

Why go? It’s Chelsea versus Man United in this year’s final and Prince William is still set to present the winner with the cup. Hopefully no one will notice him sneaking out of his brothers wedding!

 

What? RHS Chelsea Flower Show

When? Tuesday 22nd - Saturday 26th May

Where? Royal Hospital Chelsea

Why go? For five days London goes plant mad with the world’s greatest gardeners exhibiting all their best ideas that you can take home. This year there’s a focus on health and wellbeing and the power of plants.

 

What?  Sundance Film Festival: London

When? Thursday 31st May - Sunday 3rd June

Where? Picturehouse Central, Piccadilly

Why go? Robert Redford’s Utah festival returns to London for a long weekend of the best independent storytelling movies.
