There’s only 28 days in February so it’s time to get organised because there’s a lot to cram in! February plays host to the Super Bowl, Pancake Day and Valentine’s Day. February is about falling in love - with pancakes, with each other, with the last month of winter and with London.

What? Super Bowl Party
When? Sunday 4th February
Where? Balthazar, Covent Garden
Why go? If there’s one thing the Americans do better than the Brits it’s watching sports, and Balthazar will try and recreate some of that magic from 10.30pm on Super Bowl night. Tickets are £60 and they’ll be five giant screens, an All-American sharing style menu, a complimentary Maker’s Mark cocktail and unlimited coffee to see you through the night.
What? Winter Happiness Festival
When? Until Sunday 4th February
Where? The Museum of Happiness, NW1
Why go? Explore the art of happiness and learn how to stay happy in winter with workshops, an adult ball pool, a guilt-free chocolate cafe, origami and more.
What? Diary Days
When? Monday 5th February
Where? The Book Club, Shoreditch
Why go? A hilarious and cringe-worthy way to spend a Monday night. Diary Days has grown in popularity and earned somewhat of a cult status. You can just go to watch or take with you an old diary, school report or love letter to read out.
What? The Magic of the London Marathon
When? Sunday 11th February
Where? Starting at the Pavillion Cafe, Greenwich Park and ending near St James Park
Why go? Whether you’ve got a place this year, done it ten times or never run it before, this tour will give you a flavour of what to expect, as well as talking about the highlights and history of the London Marathon. It’s an 11-mile running tour so you’ll need to be able to run that far. This date is for those with, or aiming for, a sub-four hour marathon time, but there’s other dates for differing abilities from Secret London Runs.
What? The History of Video Games
When? Currently booking until Sunday 18th February
Where? The Subculture Archives, Carnaby Street
Why go? As well as a photography exhibition exploring the importance of video games and arcades in modern culture, this pop-up brings over 50 original vintage arcade machines, a retro selection of consoles and handheld games. Think Gameboys, Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart and Sonic. Tickets cost £15 for two hours of unlimited play.
What? Parliamentary Pancake Race
When? Tuesday 13th February
Where? Victoria Town Gardens, Millbank
Why go? MPs, Lords and political correspondents all compete to be crowned the pancake flipping and racing champions while raising money for Rehab. It’s free to watch and the fun starts at 10am.
What? Fall in Love with a Stranger
When? Wednesday 14th February
Where? Hoxton Square Bar
Why go? The Hoxton Square Bar are testing out a theory written by Mandy Len Catron that you can fall in love with anyone if you ask these 36 questions. Apply to take part here and you could be invited to fall in love with a stranger on Valentine’s Day.
What? Chinese New Year
When? Sunday 18th February
Where? Across the West End
Why go? London’s Chinese New Year celebrations are the biggest outside Asia and take place in Chinatown, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square and in between. They’ll be food, performances, parades and floats, music and martial arts.
What? Jon Snow: Colour is My Brand
When? Until Sunday 25th February
Where? Design Museum, Kensington
Why go? It’s hard not to notice Jon Snow’s colourful ties but did you know they were inspired by a teenage trip to Uganda? You can find out about the process that goes into making a tie, see some of his ties and even buy one of his designs.
What? Letter-writing Workshop
When? Tuesday 27th February
Where? Hello Love, Bloomsbury
Why go? Wouldn’t it be nice to receive something in the post that wasn’t a bill or something you’ve ordered for yourself off Amazon. The wordsmiths at this workshop will help you craft the perfect letter to help brighten someone's day.
