The safety and security of our guests and team is our priority. Before boarding the London Eye, all guests will go through a security check to help ensure everyone enjoys a safe and comfortable experience.
To help your visit run smoothly, please check what you can bring with you before arriving.
What happens during security checks?
When you arrive at the London Eye:
- Join the entry queue at your allocated time
- Pass through our security screening area
- Have any bags or belongings checked by our team
- Continue through to boarding
Security checks are designed to be quick and efficient, but please allow extra time during busy periods.
What can I bring on the London Eye?
Allowed items
Guests can bring:
- Small bags and backpacks
- Cameras and phones
- Water bottles
- Pushchairs and buggies (folded before boarding)
- Assistance dogs
For a smoother entry, we recommend travelling light.
Items not permitted onboard
To keep everyone safe, some items cannot be taken onto the London Eye.
These include:
✗ Large luggage and suitcases
✗ Weapons or items that could be used as weapons
✗ Sharp objects
✗ Fireworks or smoke devices
✗ Drones
✗ Scooters, bikes and skateboards

Luggage and storage
Bringing luggage?
Large bags and suitcases cannot be taken onboard the London Eye.
Storage facilities are available at the ticket office for items that cannot be brought with you and can be stored at a charge of £5 per item. Please ensure that all luggage is collected by 7pm, as an overnight charge of £25 applies.

In the interests of safety and security, certain articles are prohibited from being taken onto the London Eye. Below is guidance on what cannot be brought onto the London Eye. Please be aware that this list is not exhaustive and is subject to change.
- Any item deemed to be a weapon (Knives, Explosives, guns, tasers, pepper sprays, toy or replica guns)
- Sharp objects or anything which may be considered a security risk including knives, penknives, scissors, corkscrews
- Fireworks and/or smoke bombs
- Illegal substances and/or legal highs
- Alcohol, unless provided on one of The London Eye’s VIP Experiences
- Skateboards, scooters, e-scooters, bikes and rollerblades
- Motorcycle helmets
- Drones
- Tripods and media equipment (unless agreed in advance with the Press Office team)
- Pets – except assistance animals
- Musical instruments, unless previously approved through The London Eye’s Press team.
- Large bags, suitcases, or rucksacks
- Banners, balloons, and flags
If such objects are found or declared, they will be checked in and returned to you after your experience, provided the item is legal in the UK.

As part of our security procedures, all guests may be subject to a search before entry. By purchasing a ticket and entering the attraction, guests agree to these security checks as a condition of entry.
Any items removed or retained during security checks are left at the owner’s risk. London Eye Management Services Limited (LEMS) accepts no responsibility for any loss of or damage to items left with us.
LEMS reserves the right to refuse storage of any item at its discretion, including where this is required for safety, security or operational reasons.
