Portobello Market

London from the inside Monday 4th - Sunday 10th September 2017

These probably aren’t first date ideas, they might not even be second date ideas. These are the ones reserved for those super special days - birthdays, anniversary days, ‘thank you for being truly amazing’ days.

1. A VIP Experience on the Coca-Cola London Eye

If you’re going to do it, do it in style. The views are already spectacular and it can only be made better by choosing one of our VIP packages which include Hotel Chocolat tasting with Prosecco, wine tasting and Champagne experiences.

2. Have afternoon tea at The Goring

Have a quintessentially British date at The Goring hotel in Belgravia. Afternoon tea is served in the beautiful bar or in the gardens with the finest pastries, scones and sandwiches, first flush teas and Champagne if you so wish.

3. Make your own gin at Portobello Road Ginstitute

This is the date for gin fanatics. Find out about the history of gin and the various botanicals before crafting your very own unique recipe and having a bottle made for you. Of course the day also includes tasting gins and drinking cocktails a plenty and your recipe will be kept on file so you can re-order your own personal gin whenever you want!

4. Dine at The Mondrian

Sea Containers Restaurant at The Mondrian is as stylish and seductive as the hotel itself. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served there daily as well as bottomless Grey Goose Bloody Mary or Prosecco brunch on the weekend.

5. Go dancing at the Rivoli Ballroom

Shake your stuff and your partner at one of London’s last remaining 1950’s style ballrooms, complete with a sprung dance floor, boudoir and two bars. There’s jive nights; ballroom, latin and salsa; and 70s/80s disco and funk.

6. Eat Dans Le Noir

Have an unforgettable dinner from a totally different perspective at Dans Le Noir. You’ll eat in total darkness served by visually impaired waiters, heightening your senses of smell, taste and touch, and at least your partner won’t be able to see the food spilt around your mouth!

7. Make your own silver rings at Drink, Shop, Do

The Workbench Girls run silver ring workshops (gold available too) at Drink, Shop, Do where you can carve your own ring creation and then they will turn it into a solid, polished silver ring for you.

8. Snorkel with sharks at SEA LIFE London

This would be a surprise date that will knock your partners socks off! You can snorkel amongst six different species of sharks in the huge Pacific Reef display at the aquarium.

9. Have Guinness and oysters at The Wright Brothers

Positioning themselves as the London seafood experts, there probably isn’t a better place to get an oyster in the capital. They now have five restaurants across the city but we recommend heading to the original at Borough Market where the tables and bar seats are always packed and the atmosphere buzzing.

10. Stay in one of the towers at Hilton Paddington

For a really amazing overnight stay, the Hilton Paddington has two unique split-level rooms that sit in the hotel’s Victorian towers. They also each have a private terrace, a glass spiral staircase, lovely posh bathrooms and you’ll get access to the Executive Lounge.
